Hey, friend. My name is Rave McCarthy (aka Rave).

I am working towards becoming an adventure travel blogger and photographer. I want to travel the world and I want to share that world with all of you.

This is where I will share tips I learn along the way, a variety of photography, entertaining stories and an abundance of adventures in the outdoors. I will share my bucket lists and cuisine I’d love to try and have tried. This is where I will share my love of coffee with you.

I want to inspire you and help you travel the world too. Or at the very least…step outside of your comfort zone.

As a kid, I didn’t travel much unless it was a once in a blue moon trip to see the family in Chicago. I didn’t take my first trip out of state (aside from Illinois), let alone outside of the country until I was 18. However, that trip was mostly spurred from the loss of my mother who knew my dreams of going to Europe. She had joked with me about hiding in my suitcase when I went; because she always wanted to go too. When I lost her, I had made it my mission to do this for us. I had traveled to the Netherlands at 18 years old, having never been on a plane before. This trip opened my eyes to the world and I realized just how much I was missing out on and what I wanted to do in my lifetime. I had gotten to experience another culture, new foods, using my first massive mass transit system; met new people; learned words of another language; seen wildlife and flora I’ve only ever seen or read about in books.

I want to discover new places, expand my knowledge of the world and its people, learn new things and to challenge myself in ways I’ve never even thought of.  My other inspiration is Matthew Karsten, probably one of my biggest idols at this point in my life. You can find his blog here.

I hope you’ll enjoy following my journey and get inspired too.

More about the author.

I enjoy photography, art, architecture, wildlife, video games, conventions, concerts, traveling, and different cultures. These are my addictions, along with my severe love for coffee. I’m greatly inspired to make a difference in my life, in others, and to accomplish a life I’ve always dreamed of.
