There are definitely many ways to save up to travel. Whether you want to travel across a country, go to another state, or are an inspired nomadic traveler like Matt Karsten, there are many different options to help you achieve your goal. Some of these options take a bit longer than another, but you just have to find which one fits your goal!

The Penny Challenge

Currently this is the one I am doing. I plan to travel across Europe in a few years, but have to (sadly) put most of my money elsewhere right now because I have a list of things that I need to put first. I actually discovered this one on Facebook.
The concept is to have a large jar, (or in my case, a plastic container), and starting from day one, you put one penny in the jar. The second day, you put in 2 pennies, and so on and so forth.

So you each day will look like this: .03, .04… .75, .76, … 1.00$.
Near the end of the year, you will have roughly 667.95$ saved up.
Of course I’ll eventually need to save more than that each year, but this is how I’m starting!
(Everyday, I am putting the minimum I need to put in; aka the penny challenge. However, on top of that, I am also putting in any change I have that day.)
